WebTIP 1 Google SEO

Posted in Other interesting stuff, Web Design SEO at 5:05 pm by petArtist Cmoses

REALLY REALLY VERY BIG TIP ABOUT GOOGLE SEO:
Google offers help to webmasters at Google Webmaster Central.
I found this area accidentally while Googling. You’ll want to open a free “Google account” to use these resources fully; then read everything about “Google Sitemaps” (NOT the same thing as site maps for visitors.) A “Google Sitemap” is a file which you prepare specifically to direct and inform the “Googlebot” (Google’s first-run spider.) Also research the robots.txt file here, plus get feedback from Google on your site’s “spiderability” and other statistics.

    Hi, Connie
Thanks for the link. I really like this new site, but I’m losing track: PetArtist with horses/dogs/peaches. What’s next? Guinea pigs?
I joined Technorati yesterday, and it lists all the sites that link to a blog. That’s how I found your new site. I’m impressed with the work you’ve put in to make your site crawler-friendly. I must get round to doing that Google site map….

Hi back Ian… I can’t seem to decide what to call my blog! Peaches is our English setter and I think I’ll stick with this name a while. At first I named it like my website, then decided that wasn’t interesting enough.
The looks of the blogsite now is merely a new template. Don’t be surprised if I play around with new looks too, I am sort of testing out templates.
In this one as well as the last “template” the Blogroll is funky/unstable, it shows up in my “Uncategorized” section the first time one enters the blog, but not in my other categories, and it disappears when you leave the page then come back to “Uncategorized.” That annoys me to no end.
