Rotary exchange student meets harness horse
WELCOME to our newest exchange student Kentaro!!! who moved in with us December 2. Through the Rotary-sponsored youth exchange Ken is our third student in three years. Here from Japan since August, Ken is 16 and a high school junior. He will live with three different families during his visit (we are his second host family.)

Kentaro meets Gilford, our 3 yr.old Arabian/percheron harness horse.

Preparing to harness up, a little ground driving first… Peaches wants to come!
We already have taken Ken on a carriage ride excursion behind Gilford. Ken seemed to have fun although totally unaccustomed to horses, which are not common in Japan. Ken’s English is quite good, he is fitting right in to “Village” life, and we are excited to have him with us for the next four months.

Young horse Gilford practicing Whoa and Stand quietly…

Lake Winnipesaukee serves as backdrop to our Gunstock Hill fun!

Already Gilford knows how to speed up when heading for home!
