Sunset webcams catch the colors

FYI if you haven’t noticed, my Blog Page Webcams in New England (appearing under Looking Closer at right) contains links to several webcams with westerly views. If you’re like me and can’t always run outside at sunset time (well, I usually can but I often keep painting and then miss the moment…) just come here to the Blog (like I do!) and see what you’re missing!

Sunset captured by Mount Washington Observatory webcam Dec. 14, 2006

The image above is NOT typical I admit (Mount Washington is usually either socked in or the webcam is frozen over) but keep trying, the brave souls at the Observatory appear to chip the ice off whenever they can. The Pac Monadnock West webcam is often quite nice with a little less weather. In New England this time of year, you want to start observing around 3:30-4 pm.

Weirs Beach Cam Jan. 3, 2007 (appears to shut off around 4pm)

SunsetWebCamCastleSprings
Castle Springs Cam Jan. 3, 2007 view towards Lake Winnipesaukee (clock not synched)

SunsetWebCamBoston
Boston Harbor twin cams Jan. 3, 2007 (your screen view will be twice this big)

SunsetWebCamBurlingtonVT
Burlington VT twin cams Jan. 3, 2007 (your screen view will be twice this big)

**Shall I dig up some sunrise webcams for you early birds???** Just say so (leave COMMENT below) and I’ll do it. I myself have the luxury of raising my head to look out a picture window for sunrise– over the Belknap mountains!
