Spring skiing at Sunapee

Posted in Other interesting stuff at 8:45 pm by petArtist Cmoses

A little late posting I know, but something else we enjoyed with Antoine, our exchange student from Liege, Belgium. Don’t tell anyone– we let Antoine play hookey from school and took him with friends Bob and Martha to Mount Sunapee.

Skiing (well, some of us snowboarded!) at Sunapee on March 3. Sunapee Lake is below us.

Belgian boy’s first ride on a horse

Posted in Horses for the horse crazy at 7:50 pm by petArtist Cmoses

Antoine had never been even close to a horse before he came to stay with us… so in late March we got him on Willy mare and showed him how to ride. At least a first lesson. The mare was good and she’s a great riding horse, but she’s smart enough to know when a [...]

Ski, golf, and horse fun day in New Hampshire

Posted in Other interesting stuff at 12:15 pm by petArtist Cmoses

In March, our favorite boy from Belgium, foreign exchange student Antoine, got to go skiing with us in the morning, have a carriage ride with us at midday, and then played golf with Hubby in the afternoon. Where else but in New Hampshire can a person find that kind of variety all in one day?

Mid-winter carriage drive in January

Posted in Horses for the horse crazy at 12:37 pm by petArtist Cmoses

Our horses get to be pretty lazy all winter… they wander around a lot pawing in the snow for leaves and acorns, and make their little paths in the fields. THis past winter they were pretty bored because we fenced them away from the trees they love to chew on.
When Horse Gal came to visit [...]

Posted in Dogs for dog lovers at 9:30 pm by petArtist Cmoses

That’s right, these are 2008 pictures, which I never got around to posting in 2008. Sadly, I put these up now in place of the 2010 World Championship Sled Dog Derby, which had to be canceled due to lack of snow. This is the 3rd cancellation in the past 6 years, which is not a [...]

Barehoof trimmer visits the Herd

Posted in Horses for the horse crazy at 6:15 pm by petArtist Cmoses

Although we trim our own horses’ hooves, we like to get an evaluation visit by a professional trimmer at least yearly. This assures us we are not getting off track, or that something isn’t happening that we are missing.
Lisa Phelps, aka. Hoofwalker, came in mid-January (brrrr!!) and checked all the Herd. We were advised we [...]

Antoine joined our family just before Christmas for a few months. He is from Liege, Belgium, an exchange student sponsored by the local Rotary Club. Antoine is our fifth student to date, and he really gets along well here.
